Additionally, Dr. Cloninger was active on the accreditation teams for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

As a seasoned researcher and presenter in his field, Dr. Cloninger focused his studies on the economics of crime and law enforcement. He has contributed over 40 articles to various scholarly journals as a result, served as a referee to several of these publications, including the Journal of Applied Economics and the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, and has contributed opinion columns to multiple periodicals since 1973. Dr. Cloninger has published several books as well, including "The Economics of Crime and Law Enforcement" in 1972, and recently released his latest novel, "The Ninth Passage" through Newman Springs Publishing in 2019.
