WHEATON, IL, October 08, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Margo McCollister, LCPC, NCC, has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. While coming of age, Ms. McCollister encountered numerous mental health challenges throughout her extended family. Because it was often discussed in her household, she felt compelled to fight the stigma and offer professional assistance to people who are afflicted with such issues. She went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Loyola University and a Master of Science in clinical psychology from Benedictine University. She began her career as a clinical therapist at Linden Oaks Hospital and now serves clients as the owner of the Wheaton Wellness Center. Ms. McCollister is also a licensed clinical professional counselor and a nationally certified counselor.
For her contributions to the field of psychology, Ms. McCollister was featured among Fascinating Faces of the Year in Glancer Magazine in 2019. During the course of her career, she has attributed her professional success to her ability to quickly connect with others so that they feel safe and welcome in her presence. This allows Ms. McCollister to effectively develop a therapeutic relationship with clients so that they can heal more quickly.
Civically, Ms. McCollister served on the Mental Health Board for the Town of Geneva, IL, in 2015. Looking toward the future, she aspires to expand her practice to include more professionals in order to meet the needs of those in her community. Ms. McCollister would also like to start a nonprofit organization for members of the community who may not be able to afford therapy.
