ATLANTA, GA, November 04, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ackerman Retail, a division of Atlanta-based Ackerman & Co., has brokered the sale of a 1.06-acre land parcel in Cedartown, Ga., for the development of a new Wendy's franchise restaurant.
Vice President of Retail Services Stephen Lapierre represented the buyer, Meritage Hospitality Group, in the land acquisition. Meritage, the second-largest Wendy's franchisee in the U.S., purchased the Walmart-owned outparcel located adjacent to the Walmart Supercenter at 1585 Rome Highway.
The parcel will become the site of a new third-generation Wendy's prototype. Construction will begin later this fall and completion is targeted for first-quarter 2021.

Meritage plans to develop 40 new Wendy's restaurants by the end of 2024. Wendy's newest prototype store includes a kiosk-centric ordering system that eliminates the need for interior menu boards. It also features outdoor patio furniture made from recycled materials, interior and exterior LED lighting, and Energy Star certified kitchen equipment that reduces restaurant energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions.
