LOS ANGELES, CA, December 05, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The gesture machine learning mouse Snowl, which is being developed by the human interface specialist CoX Space, has entered the final stage of technological completion with the aim of mass production in March next year. CoX Space has successfully completed a $250,000 crowdfunding through Kickstarter and is focusing on securing Snowl's quality technology and stable market supply.

Kim Ho-yeon is the CEO of CoX Space and the expert who has worked as a key engineer in a global system semiconductor company for 14 years. Kim said, "In 2015, by proposing a human interface using a MEMS-based IMU sensor, I have won the first place in the personal qualification at Intel's in-house idea contest. As I was managing the technological development for 9DoF IMU sensor at MediaTek, I thought of creating a new business area by integrating the idea and technology, and that's how I started my business." The challenge of CEO Kim is making to spread the excellence of Korean startups by creating a human interface based on global standards based on expertise and creativity is progressing together with the development of Snowl, an innovative machine learning mouse.

Snowl is a gesture machine learning mouse that allows you to easily enjoy various contents on devices such as Windows, Android, and iOS-based computers and devices like AR headsets, smartphones, and holograms. Snowl is a ring-shaped wearable mouse. With the intuitive human interface that can easily and precisely control complex 3D images or virtual reality content through finger motion tracking as well as general mouse functions, it functions as the 3D air mouse and gesture mouse, and the charging cradle itself acts as like a joystick mouse. This product is equipped with the latest technology, 9DoF, a 3D spatial coordinate solution, and a unique 3D position function.

"All three core technologies of Snowl have global competitiveness and can be used in many industries in the future," said Kim. He then said, "By using the gesture machine learning recording feature, the user can teach his or her gestures on Snowl and match them to mouse or keyboard functions, and with this, complex macro functions can be operated with a simple finger gesture. Also, 9DoF technology is a technology that accurately represents angles in space, and CoX Space stabilized it as a key technology to express virtual reality." He then added, "3D position is a technology that tracks distance in space, and CoX Space developed it with its own technology."

Snowl provides eight optimized user-defined gestures through the machine learning recorder, and with this, it expressed the feature to process of complex device tasks by one simple hand gesture, such as a macro function and a keyboard input key combination. Especially, Snowl can be linked with various contents as well as an interface used as a mouse. Kim said, "Currently, we are collaborating with many content companies, and we are solving the method of recycling existing content to reduce the cost of content creation and the difficulty of collaboration." On the future plan, he said, "We will provide and discover various contents by providing our customers new UX/UI made with new technologies, and continue to expand Snowl buyers and service users."

CoX Space has set the US, Europe, and Japan as its first countries to enter, and achieved a funding success rate of the top 1% in Kickstarter history despite the COVID pandemic in the US and Europe. Regarding these achievements, Kim recalls that the introduction video for Kickstarter produced by overseas marketing support project at the Pangyo Startup Zone received great responses and had a positive effect on attracting investment. Kim announced, "Since we have increased the possibility of entering the market in advanced countries by attracting funding investments, we are currently looking for a cooperative partner so that we can enter the country with stability. We are going to strengthen the strategic cooperation within the startup network in Pangyo, and focus on increasing Snowl's capabilities to lead the high-value-added mouse industry."

CoX Space is based in Pangyo. Pangyo Technovalley is the Asia Tech Hub where more than 1,200 companies in IT, CT, and BT sectors with innovative products and technologies are gathered. Located just south of the Seoul metropolitan area, easy transportation access and infrastructure provides the best environment for Korean companies to conduct businesses.

Various high-tech companies are located here, with more than 64 thousand full-time workers with a vast majority in their 20s and 30s. By industries, companies in the high-tech industry are made up of IT companies, content technology companies, biotechnology companies, and nanotechnology companies.

With the support from innovative companies with global capabilities like Kakao, NHN Entertainment, AhnLab, Krafton, NCSOFT, Nexon, and Hancom at hand, companies in Pangyo Technovalley made over 100 trillion in revenue this year. A 20% increase from last year, it is expected to become one of the best IT clusters in Korea in near future, along with advanced technology research institutes like Advanced Institute of Convergence Technology, KAIST, ETRI, and KETI working together to develop the relevant technologies further.
