Drawing upon more than 40 years of expertise in health care management, Donald Cofrancesco brings ample experience to his roles as Founder and President of All Around Town Home Care, Inc.
He began his career by first receiving a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and life sciences with distinction from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1975. Upon graduating from WPI, he began working as a research assistant at Yale Medical School in the Department of Psychiatry. He continued his studies at the University of New Haven, receiving a Master of Arts degree in gerontology in 1979. Maintaining a lifelong interest in continuing education, he earned a Master of Public Health Yale University in 1992. Upon receiving his Master of Arts from UNH, Mr. Cofrancesco became the Director of Biostatistics and Health Planning with the Department of Health for the City of New Haven, Connecticut. In the 1980s, he served as an administrator for several institutions, including Golden Manor Convalescent Home, Inc., the West Haven Nursing Center, Independence Manor and Hillside Manor. In 1990, he obtained the roles of assistant administrator, clinical practice specialist, and lecturer in the Department of Surgery at Yale Medical School, working in these aspects until 2001. From 2001 to 2013, Mr. Cofrancesco provided his expertise as a health care consultant. In addition to his work managing health care, Mr. Cofrancesco is able to bring relief in other ways, having become a Reiki Master in 2008.
Mr. Cofrancesco served his community as a member of the Human Services Commission for the Town of Hamden, CT, and served as its Vice Chair and Chair for a number of years. He also represented Hamden as a Board Member of the Quinnipiack Valley Health District (QVHD). He also served on the private non-proprietary Boards of Partnerships Center for Adult Day Care and the Connecticut Lifespan Respite Coalition.
As his main avocation, Mr. Cofrancesco possesses a General Class License in Amateur Radio and is a Life Member in the American Radio Relay League. He was a member of the Connecticut Amateur Radio Emergency Service (CT ARES) and is a Certified Weather Spotter for the National Weather Service.
As a member of CT ARES, Mr. Cofrancesco served as the Public Information Officer for ARES Region 2 and also served as the ARES Emergency Coordinator for Emergency Communications for the QVHD.
In recognition of his professional accomplishments, he was honored among the Outstanding Young Men of America in 1983. More recently, he was presented with an Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and a Marquis Who's Who Humanitarian Award. He was additionally featured in such publications as Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the East, Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, and Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
He currently resides in the Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina. He is in the process of creating a Holistic Reiki practice which will provide Reiki Therapy to clientele in the Piedmont Triad and Research Triangle areas.
