Duncan Oklahoma Economic Developers Promote Industrial Land with PlaceVR Technology

360-Degree Video and Virtual Meetings App by Golden Shovel Agency Attracts Attention and Facilitates Meetings

DUNCAN, OK, January 06, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Duncan Area Economic Development Foundation (DAEDF) is now using virtual reality technology to market available land in their industrial parks to site selectors and investors anywhere in the world. Their new tools include a 360-degree video and virtual meetings app produced by Golden Shovel Agency.

The virtual meetings app allows people to interact as though they're together in person. The Duncan team of economic developers ship a set of virtual reality goggles to the other participant. The recipient puts on the goggles and the meeting starts in a simulated conference room. The 360-degree video begins, and participants can play and pause it to go with the flow of the conversation.

"This video not only allows us to show prospects what our industrial sites look like, but it gives us a way to move them down their decision-making path by meeting with them in a virtual environment," said Lyle Roggow, President of the Duncan Area Economic Development Foundation. "We feel that this is a tool that gives us the opportunity for us to do marketing in a really different way."

360-degree video and virtual reality are technologies that create immersive experiences. When viewed with virtual reality goggles, people feel like they are in the middle of each scene in the video. There's a physiological response in the brain that's similar to what happens when a person is really in a new place and the result is high retention of the message.

"Because they have this tool, Lyle and his team will be able to reach more people with their message that Duncan, Oklahoma is a great place to live, work and do business," said Aaron Brossoit, CEO of Golden Shovel Agency. "They wanted to move ahead with this project because they're forward-thinking, and now with the world the way it is, they'll be set up to stimulate new investment while the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic linger."

The Industrial Sites for Sale Tour is one of five videos that are being produced for DAEDF. The other videos are focused on a community or familiarization (FAM) tour, workforce training, hospital recruitment, and quality of life.

About the Duncan Area Economic Development Foundation - In 1993, the citizens and businesses of Duncan created the Duncan Area Economic Development Foundation (DAEDF) to promote the development of existing businesses, attract new businesses, and diversify Duncan's economic base. By simultaneously building up the local infrastructure, establishing relationships throughout the community and state, and ensuring that there is a well-trained and vital workforce, DAEDF created an attractive business climate. DAEDF has attracted businesses that provide competitive wages and make capital investments in the community, which means they are more likely to remain in the area as long-term employers. http://www.ok-duncan.com
