HONOLULU, HI, January 06, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Alan Wu, MD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Wu is a retired Army flight surgeon currently focusing on his work as the chief executive officer, co-founder and primary provider at Doctors of Waikiki in Honolulu. An alumnus of the University of Hawaii, Dr. Wu holds a Bachelor of Science in biological sciences and earned his Doctor of Medicine at the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii in 2007. He served proudly to the rank of Major in the United States Army from 2002 to 2017, spending three years as a resident physician at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., before being named assistant chief of the Internal Medicine Clinic at Tripler Army Medical Center in 2012.

Between 2013 and 2017, Dr. Wu was a brigade flight surgeon based at Wheeler Army Airfield in Honolulu. He became a physician affiliate of Hawaii Pacific Health and Straub Clinic and Hospital in 2015, where he continued to see patients until 2018. Doctors of Waikiki, established in 2018, is a joint venture between Dr. Wu and another local physician striving to create an accessible and high-quality clinic serving residents and visitors of Waikiki.

At Doctors of Waikiki, Dr. Wu is responsible for managing strategic and financial planning, daily operations for a staff of 40 employees, in addition to direct patient care. He is driven by a desire to help those in need of medical assistance, and Doctors of Waikiki has treated up to 8 percent of Hawaii's total coronavirus patients despite being a small community practice.

Dr. Wu retired from the United States Armed Forces decorated with an Army Bronze Star, a Meritorious Service Medal, and an Army Aviation Medicine Award, and he considers the operational planning and logistics skills he learned in the military to be one of the keys to his success. Within five years, Dr. Wu hopes to expand Doctors of Waikiki to another clinic location.
