Other books to her credit include "In Her Feminine Sign," "The Iraqi Nights," "Diary of A Wave Outside the Sea" and "The War Works Hard." They are all published by New Directions, a prominent New York based publisher.
Ms. Mikhail received a Bachelor of Arts in English literature at the University of Baghdad in 1987. She later earned a Master of Arts in Near Eastern Studies at Wayne State University in 2001. Aligned with literature and free speech related organizations in support of her career, Ms. Mikhail is presently a member of the Academy of American Poets, PEN for American Writers and is also a founding member of the Mesopotamian Forum for Art and Culture in Michigan.
