Marquis Who's Who Honors Edward Isao Ueno, PhD, with Inclusion in Who's Who in the World

An accomplished listee, Dr. Ueno celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Dr. Ueno is an esteemed environmental scientist, educator and policy advisor celebrating more than 50 years of service to his students and specialty. He has earned a Bachelor of Science from Tokai University and a master's degree at Meiji University, with which he subsequently completed doctoral coursework. Following these accomplishments, he obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in 1966. The same year, Dr. Ueno began his career as an educational official for the Japanese Ministry of Education in Tokyo, a role he would hold until 1999.

Throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, Dr. Ueno pursued a number of visiting professorships at research institutions across the globe, including at the Technical University of Braunschweig, Texas Tech University and the FM Tokyo Broadcasting Station. In 1980, he was selected as a member of the University of Tokyo's reserve R&D group for intense neutron source study, from which he would transfer to the University of Tokyo's fusions science group as a department representative in 1989. Dr. Ueno accepted a government policy advisory post in 1994, focusing on Hitoyoshi City, before flourishing in his current role as a special policy advisor to the Japanese House of Representatives.

Dr. Ueno's present focus on policy and public-sector work has not prevented him from continuing to teach. After a brief term at the Nagoya Institute of Technology, he began concurrent faculty positions at Kochi University, Nagoya University and Tohoku University, for which he has taught for more than 15 years.

In recognition of the far-reaching human and policy impacts of his work, Dr. Ueno is the recipient of an International Peace Prize and an American Medal of Honor. He was additionally presented with grants from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and the Ministry of Education. As one of the eminent voices in his specialty, he has excelled in administrative positions with the Institute for Ecosystem Agriculture, the Society for the Study of Design Water, the Sustainable Management Forum, and the Society of Waste and Resource Research, where he has served as manager since 1994.

The president of the Institute for Eco and Economy System since 1995, Dr. Ueno has lent his expertise to such creative works as "Energy and Resources" and "Waste and Resource", "The Miracle Based on Agricultural Methods of Microbiological Ecosystems" in 1995, "The Human Beings Perish from the Earth in Eighty Years" in 2000, and "Deep Seawater" in 2002, as well as numerous articles in professional journals. Due to his outstanding accomplishments, he earned an International Peace Prize, and American Medal of Honor, the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement in 2020 and a special research grant, which he accepted from the Ministry of Education, and which he received a Dozenten Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Additionally, he has been featured in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Asia, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who in Science and Engineering. In the coming years, Dr. Ueno continuously intends to conduct research activities "LIVING LEGEND, 500 FOUNDERS OF THE 21ST CENTURY (IBC CAMBRIDGE)" to provide "ECOSYSTEM economics model" advocated by him. Before the Industrial Revolution, the model composed of natural and humans ecosystem maturated with good balance. Now, however, the balance greatly has been destroyed by expanding the trilemma structure both originated from the economic growth in the Human Sphere and the environment in the Microbial Sphere, which results in the novel coronavirus pandemic. Therefore, he and his group aggressively conduct modest research activities for wide fields to realize the philosophy of introducing the artificial ecosystem into the current Human Sphere to return the balance.
