Since 2018, Mr. Warren has served as a staff attorney with Memphis Area Legal Services, where he focuses his practice on housing, tenant and landlord disputes, property tax redemption and unlawful evictions. He holds an Associate of Arts in business administration and management from Southwest Tennessee Community College, and continued his education at the University of Memphis, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in business administration in 2010. Initially interested in a career in human resources, Mr. Warren elected to enroll at the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, and completed a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2015.
While attending school, Mr. Warren worked in the law library at the University of Memphis. He was admitted to practice law by the state bar of Tennessee in 2016, and began working as a distribution and inventory associate for Shelby County Schools during the same year. Mr. Warren's work with Shelby County Schools only reinforced his dedication to represent the legal and human rights of all people and sparked his initial interest in tenant and property law.
Mr. Warren is the recipient of a Dean's Award for Excellence for his legal brief writing, as well as a 2014 CALI Award for his community elder law clinic work. He credits his success on hard work, integrity and the early influence of University of Memphis professor Dr. Irwin Tankersley and Southwest Tennessee Community College professor Rose McNeil. Mr. Warren advises others in his field never to underestimate the value of their reputation, and to consider carefully the kind of work and values they want to be associated with. He remains committed to professional growth and continuing to live his values, and hopes to become a judge within the next five years.
