In pursuit of higher education, Mr. Kostepen received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University in 1982, a Master of Science in Administration in information technology management from Central Michigan University in 1988 while at U.S. Air Force Strategic Air Command, and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in Speech Recognition using Neural Networks from the University of North Dakota in 1991. After accruing several years of leadership in his field, he graduated from an Executive program in Strategy and Innovation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management in 2017.
Mr. Kostepen began his career as a systems engineer and systems analyst in the early 1990s. Subsequently, he served as an advanced product development and design manager for the Ford Motor Company between 1994 and 2003 and launched the "industry first" Speech Recognition System for Jaguar S Type, before moving on to Panasonic Automotive, and later, Panasonic North America – Silicon Valley Center, departing from his roles in executive management in 2019. Today, Mr. Kostepen serves as founder, partner and managing director of H&K Ventures. Over the years, he has gained expertise in green and blue technologies, global implementation, energy and mobility.
In his current position, Mr. Kostepen strives to create a bridge between technology and education in order to foster more innovation in the future. Throughout his career, he has worked with countries such as Iapan, Norway, Poland, Romania, Saudi Arabia and Turkey in order to mobilize innovation around technology and business. He also holds several U.S. patents, and he has developed global strategic partnerships valued at a total of $8.5 billion. He has also developed new multi-dimensional platform categories around strategy & innovation for consumer mobility and advanced artificial intelligence machine learning teams, tools and processes. Notably, he has served as an industry leader and speaker on automotive, smart life, smart mobility and smart cities.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Kostepen plans to develop a platform where others can create and find answers to their questions surrounding technological advances. He is an U.S. Air Force veteran.
