While working at an apparel company from New York, he would often frequent a Mexican restaurant near the store and was eventually inspired to open a restaurant drawing deeply from his Mexico City upbringing.
He decided to open a Mexican restaurant that would focus on Continental Mexico City cuisine and stay away from the already well represented Tex-Mex Mexican food. It took a little time for Dallas residents and visitors to appreciate the fact that there is Mexican food that is not only enchiladas and puffed tacos, etc. but fresh seafood, high quality tenderloin beef, chicken, shrimp, and other regional dishes. After 43 years in business his concept has been very successful.
For his accomplishments as a restaurant owner and entrepreneur, Mr. Gutierrez has received several minority business awards from the Dallas Business Journal. In accounting for his success, he credits his propensity for dedication and commitment to his business goals. When customers book his restaurant for special events, Mr. Gutierrez strives to ensure they make their special moments even more special.
In order to remain aware of developments in his field, Mr. Gutierrez maintains his professional affiliation with the Texas Restaurant Association.
