Holowenzak, PhD with inclusion in Who's Who in the World. An accomplished listee, Dr. Holowenzak celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Dr. Holowenzak celebrates a career dedicated to bringing the mission of higher education to members of the United States Armed Forces stationed throughout the world. As a professor for the University of Maryland Global Campus, he contributed more than 30 years toward empowering adult learners through education in cities from Heidelberg, Germany, to Tokyo, Japan, and more. Dr. Holowenzak holds a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and English from Mount St. Paul College, and completed his education at the Catholic University of America, where he earned a Master of Arts in counseling, guidance and personnel management, as well as a Doctor of Philosophy in educational psychology and technology, statistics and management.

After spending a year as a health computer education coordinator for the University of Maryland Health Professional Schools and Cumberland Area Health Education Center, Dr. Holowenzak became a member of the University of Maryland Global Campus faculty. For the next two decades, he taught computer studies, mathematics, psychology and a range of subjects for the University of Maryland Global Campus and Adelphi, through which he was stationed in cities across the United States, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Northern Africa. He is proud to have served members of the United States Army, Navy and Air Force stationed abroad during such major operations as Desert Storm, Desert Shield and Provide Comfort, as well as at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Likewise, he held leadership roles in the University of Maryland Global Campus programs on campus and on location, including serving years as the academic director of education and student teaching services and senior program manager of faculty services and communication. In recognition of his career in service toward both his country and Christian faith, Dr. Holowenzak was granted honorary professor emeritus status in 2010.

In addition to his work in higher education, Dr. Holowenzak served as an independent contractor, trainer and evaluator for various private-sector leaders, including Ford Aerospace, and was appointed to the Japan-U.S. Education Committee's Candidate Selection Committee. He has been featured in several Maryland Public Television documentaries, including "Over There: The Adventures of Maryland's Traveling Faculty," in 2017, and "A Maryland State of Mind Special: Bullets, Books and Bosnia," in 1996, as well as in several editions of the University of Maryland Global Campus' "The Achiever." Additionally, Dr. Holowenzak is the former editor for Archangel Calling Publications and The Patriot, and has contributed extensively to books, professional journal articles and the films "9/11: We Will Never Forget" and "Stars and Stripes Forever." He has been profiled in local and regional media outlets in appreciation of his service, and received dozens of military and civilian honors for his commitment to the advancement of American democracy and opportunity.

A devout Catholic, Dr. Holowenzak is a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and a past Grand Knight, chief executive officer and Faithful Navigator of the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree Assembly 386. Among other accolades, he has been presented with a Star Assembly Award, was named as the Sir Knight of the Year by the Archdiocese of Washington District in 2017 and was profiled in a diocesan newsletter in commemoration of a 9/11 remembrance flag project that he initiated. Dr. Holowenzak attributes his success to the quality of his Catholic and public school education, the teachers and mentors who paved the way for his growth, and to the love and support of his parents, sister, wife and daughter. Looking toward the future, he anticipates many more years of living out his faith through service.
