Dr. Medvin has garnered a laudable reputation for her work as a psychologist since 1984. Leveraging her expertise, she first entered private practice in 1987 and, since 1996, has become a licensed and board-certified clinical and industrial organizational psychologist and consultant. Serving clients in South Florida, she specializes in behavioral medicine with a holistic approach, which includes therapeutic techniques ranging from psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral and behavior modification to various mind-body approaches. Dr. Medvin works closely with individuals, families, couples, and businesses trying to manage the challenges of work-life balance and achieving personal and strategic objectives.

Her clinical practice provides consultation to overcome various issues, including stress management, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, personal change and adjustment. Her organizational consulting has focused on the versatile application of behavioral science principles and best practices to help organizations manage change and enhance organizational learning, effectiveness and workforce capability. She has worked extensively with corporate employee assistance and wellness, career assessment and development, and mediation and conflict resolution programs.

Initiating her career as a staff psychologist and quality assurance chairperson for the North Miami Community Mental Health Center in Miami from 1984 until 1988, Dr. Medvin later served as a Director of Planning and Effectiveness at Miami-Dade Community College from 1994 to 1996. She also had the opportunity to work as a Performance Consultant on behalf of Baptist Health Systems of South Florida from 1996 to 2000 and for the City of Miami as an Applied Psychologist, Training and Development Coordinator, and Employee Assistance Program Administrator between 2000 and 2011.

Apart from her full-time responsibilities, Dr. Medvin has enjoyed adjunct faculty appointments in psychology and business at Florida International University (FIU) since 1988 and the University of Miami as an adjunct professor of applied psychology and business. Among other appointments, she has been affiliated with Saint Thomas University and Barry University in several capacities. Dr. Medvin has also been aligned with several professional advisory boards in both health care and education, and has remained active on the business technology advisory board for Dade County Public Schools since 2005 through 2011.

Successful in the development of leadership, executive assessment and performance coaching programs, Dr. Medvin has also developed an abundance of wellness and health risk assessments, psychological tests and measures, statistical performance models and tracking metrics for assessing various aspects of organizational effectiveness and employee engagement. These programs and systems have been widely used in different industries to help businesses align strategic objectives with HR practices and organizational behavior. She has contributed numerous articles in her field, covering such topics as creativity, leadership effectiveness, organizational power, personality assessment, human relations, and relationship satisfaction. Moreover, Dr. Medvin has distinguished herself as a frequent speaker, through which she expounds upon the subjects of personal growth, professional development, leadership effectiveness and creating and maintaining healthy organizational cultures and workforce engagement and other topics.

Since 1986, Dr. Medvin has volunteered her time and expertise with several significant nonprofit organizations, including the Switchboard of Miami Crisis Counseling, South Florida AIDS Network, Red Ribbon Counsel/Informed Families of Dade County, and Habitat For Humanity. She has also provided pro bono statistical/psychometrics consulting, career development and psychological services to various individuals and organizations throughout her career. Professionally, Dr. Medvin is a fellow of the American College of Forensic Examiners. She is also a member of the American Psychological Association, the American Board of Disability Analysts, the Society of Human Resource Management and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.

Dr. Medvin received a Bachelor of Arts, with high honors, at FIU in 1981 and a Master of Science, with honors, at the University of Georgia in 1984. Continuing her studies, she later completed a Doctor of Philosophy, with high honors, in 1993. Eminently qualified in her field, Dr. Medvin is a licensed psychologist in Florida, a diplomate of both the American Board Psychological Specialties and the American College of Disability Analysts and, among other qualifications, is a certified substance abuse professional through the National Certification Commission for Addiction Professionals and a certified mediator through the Florida Supreme Court.

In 2007, Dr. Medvin was presented with a Recognition Award for Leadership and Community Contributions during Women's History Month. She also received a Recognition Award for Merit and Excellence in Community Support and for Mentoring Others in 2009 from the Florida Institute of Management. A celebrated Marquis listee, Dr. Medvin has been featured in various editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who of American Women.
