PORTLAND, OR, March 19, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Tamara Justus has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Dr. Justus was raised in Mexico City, Mexico. Drawing inspiration from her father, an internationally recognized orthodontist, and her mother, a successful endodontist, Dr. Justus pursued a similar path into dentistry. She graduated with honors and first in her class from the Universidad Tecnologica de Mexico, then obtained a master's degree and certificate in Orthodontics at the prestigious University of Washington School of Dentistry, where she was also awarded the Moffet Research Award in her senior year. Upon graduating, she served as a full-time faculty member at the Oregon Health and Sciences University (OHSU), Department of Orthodontics, until opening her private practice in 2006. An accomplished member of the orthodontic community, she also achieved board certification, an honor awarded to less than 25% of practicing orthodontists.
As an orthodontist, Dr. Justus treats early, adolescent and adult patients with orthodontics malocclusions, focusing on detailed completion of all cases. Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. Justus is also a longtime member of the American Association of Orthodontics, and is active with the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontics, the American and Oregon Dental associations and the American Board of Orthodontics.
In conjunction with her work in orthodontics, Dr. Justus has helped raise funds for non-profit organizations in her home state who help with the dental needs of lower income families. She has also been sought out as a lecturer by dental and orthodontic organizations, and is set to rejoin the OHSU School of Dentistry as part-time faculty to pursue once again her love for teaching in the field.
