Jacqueline Ryder Livesay Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    JACKSON, MI, April 19, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Jacqueline Ryder Livesay with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Livesay celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. Having earned distinction as the director of the Jackson Chorale Children's Choir at the Jackson Community Music School (CMS) since 2008, Ms. Livesay has been devoted to music education and outreach her entire career. She is one of many faculty members at the CMS who have garnered a reputation for their musical talents in orchestras and ensembles all over the world. In addition to her directorship role, Ms. Livesay served as the director of children's music and organist at First United Methodist Church in Jackson from 2003 to 2020, and the director of Orff music at First Presbyterian Church in Jackson since 2005. She is also committed in an academic capacity teaching courses as an adjunct instructor of music at Albion College and Spring Arbor University.

Originally active as an organist and minister of music at Trinity United Methodist Church in Jackson from 1977 until 2003, Ms. Livestay was also a tenured elementary music teacher at Vandercook Lake Public Schools between 1989 and 1998 and Jackson Public Schools from 1998 to 2012. She also found success as a member of the Jackson Public Schools magnet committee from 2003 to 2012. Additionally, Ms. Livestay served as an organ soloist with the Jackson Symphony Orchestra, where she was also instrumental as the former co-chair of the capital campaign taskforce and on the planning committee of the Jackson Symphony Orchestra Family Concert.

Supporting her field, as well as her community, Ms. Livestay is a 24-year member of Jackson Tuesday Musicale, serving as President from 2016 to 2018. She is currently Vice President of the state affiliation, Michigan Federation of Music Clubs, as well as serving as President of the organization's Southwest District. Ms. Livesay is also Vice President of the Jackson Symphony Guild, having been a member since 1999. She is a member of the Jackson Chapter of the Philanthropic Educational Organization, serving as president 2020-.

Ms. Livestay studied at Westminster Choir College, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in music in 1973. Continuing her studies, she earned a Master of Art in music at the University of Michigan in 1977 and a Master of Art in education at Spring Arbor University in 2001. Eminently qualified in her field, she holds certification in Building the Foundation of Education through Movement, Level I, through the Gordon Institute of Music Learning, and has completed levels I, II and III teacher trainings through the American Orff-Schulwerk Association. Ms. Livesay was recognized as the 2001 Outstanding Elementary Educator by Jackson Public Schools.
