True Lacrosse Expands Girls Program in North Carolina

True Lacrosse broadens organization to new players, new states

DURHAM, NC, April 20, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- True Lacrosse, the nation's premier lacrosse organization, is excited to announce their True Girls program expansion in North Carolina.

"We couldn't be happier to be bringing in a girls team of exceptional directors to join our North Carolina program," said True Lacrosse Girls National Director Suzanne Rich. "Our newly appointed regional directors for North Carolina already have a clinic series in the works, and we all couldn't be more excited to meet and work with the female lacrosse players in the area."

The new North Carolina girls lacrosse program will be run by regional directors Peter Murphy and Rebecca Sheinfeld. Murphy has worked with the True Lacrosse organization for many years in the Chicago market for both boys and girls programs. Murphy is also the boy's national team coach for True. and will deal mostly with the girls' team in The Triangle. Sheinfeld will primarily be in the Fayetteville region, and although she is newer to the organization, she brings with her an extensive coaching background. Sheinfeld is currently a college coach at Methodist University, which affords True players a first-hand resource to learn about both the game and the recruiting process.

True Lacrosse plans to build off of the foundation created by the Flames Lacrosse Club in Fayetteville. They will help expand their efforts in creating more opportunities for North Carolina girls interested in lacrosse. Starting now, Flames Lacrosse will be operated by True Lacrosse.

"We've shared our ideology and vision for Flames with Coach Rebecca and True Girls National Director Suzanne Rich; they are excited to build on that and make it even better," explained Wes Davis, former co-founder of the Flames.

The free clinics are open to players of all levels to attend, learn and improve their skill sets. These clinics include helping players clean up their current skills, introduce new concepts, increase lacrosse IQ, and get a chance to see how we train at True Lacrosse. The first clinic opens on April 18 at Douglas Byrd Middle School, the second on May 2, and the last clinic in the series is on May 26. Each clinic is scheduled based on elementary, middle school, and high school athletes. Each player has the opportunity to attend one session in the series or all three.
