Military Spouse Advocacy Network, with Presenting Sponsor Defense Credit Union Council, launches the first Military Spouse Leadership Development Program. Applications open May 7, 2021 and remain open until June 11, 2021.

SAN ANTONIO, TX, May 04, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Military Spouse Advocacy Network (MSAN) announces the launch of the first Military Spouse Leadership Development Program (LDP). The LDP is a global virtual four month training program focused on providing military spouses with an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of Leadership, Service, Advocacy, and Mentorship. This program will serve as a catalyst to empower military spouse leaders who are well-equipped to drive change and lead efforts in local communities and/or in their respective areas of interest and expertise. The LDP was developed to unlock the potential of military spouses on their path to becoming future action-oriented leaders, advocates and mentors.

The LDP will provide a diverse cohort of 50 military spouses (from all military branches) training from world-renowned institutions and professionals including:

Harvard University - National Preparedness Leadership Initiative
McChrystal Group - McChrystal Academy
Psych Hub
Top military leaders
Impactful voices in the community
Advanced communications training
Influential panel participants

Upon completion of the four month training, the participants will receive a Leadership Certificate from Harvard University, Micro-certifications in mental health allyship from Psych Hub, and ongoing alumni support of their programs and initiatives.

Defense Credit Union Council's (DCUC) sponsorship of this program and continued support of MSAN aims to bring world class leadership training to military spouses as they facilitate efforts in their local communities or on a national level. This collaboration continues the efforts of both organizations by providing military spouse leaders the tools and training to be personally and professionally successful.

"Military Spouses are considered shakers in our communities because they serve, lead, mentor and advocate for efforts that need improvement. But one thing to consider is that leaders with visions and ideas need guidance and support to know how and when to execute a plan," said Verenice Castillo, Founder & CEO. "This is why LDP was developed because regardless if you are an experience or non-experienced leader, receiving training, tools and support will make those leaders even stronger. We are honored to receive DCUC's support and commitment to join this effort and provide future leaders in our community the fundamentals to be successful."

Tony Hernandez, DCUC President & CEO said, "DCUC is proud to support MSAN's newest program, they have been dedicated to helping military spouses for years and this newest endeavor will give more spouses the skills they need to succeed. I've seen firsthand how difficult it can be for military spouses and providing them with development programs like this is a great way to make sure that our military communities continue to thrive."

Applications open May 7, 2021 and will remain open until June 11th at 12am Eastern Daylight Time. To apply and for more information visit: www.militaryspouseadvocacynetwork.org
