"Ignore tech and digital adoption by older consumers at your own risk," says Age of Majority CEO, Jeff Weiss.
BOSTON, MA, May 19, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- While the myth of the tech-averse senior is gradually dissipating, the marketing world still largely overlooks the extent to which technology has taken hold of the lives of consumers 55+.
A new landmark study by marketing consultancy, Age of Majority, is about to shatter a number of myths and have more companies and brands taking notice of the huge opportunity to reach consumers 55+ via digital devices, across multiple aspects of the lives.
Tapping the power of Revolution55, its proprietary online community of older adults, Age of Majority found computers, mobile devices and wearables have become indispensable tools in how consumers 55+ shop, manage finances, socialize, stay entertained, source news, control their homes and manage their health.
• More than 9 in 10 (96%) older adults shop online
• Nine in 10 (91%) stream YouTube videos
• Nine in 10 (91%) use smart phones
• More than half (54%) use tablets
• A third (34%) use wearable tech
"Ignore tech and digital adoption by older consumers at your own risk," says Age of Majority CEO, Jeff Weiss. "This audience holds close to 70% of consumer wealth and accounts for more than 40% of consumer spending."

As the survey was not conducted using a random sample a margin of error cannot be assigned to the results.
