Harvey C. Hynson Celebrates a Storied Career as a Performing Artist and Educator

Mr. Hynson has dedicated his life to developing talent and teaching the technique and the theory of performing arts



Mr. Hynson is grateful to have met and collaborated with such professionals as Dustin Hoffman, Al Pacino, Jessica Lange and Mikhail Baryshnikov.

    PHILADELPHIA, PA, July 02, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Harvey C. Hynson has been included in Marquis Who's Who. With nearly 30 years of experience in theatre and art to his credit, Mr. Hynson is proud to be revered as an accomplished pianist, vocalist, dancer, teacher, director and choreographer. Moreover, he is grateful to reflect on a storied career as an instructor of theatre arts, tenure track, under department chair, professor at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, as well as an audition and modeling coach. Presently, he looks forward to a storied and fulfilling career as the founding executive director of Studio Without Walls Inc. In this capacity, Mr. Hynson is responsible for scouting, training, developing and assisting students by discovering their aptitude and potential for advanced and continued training in all aspects of creative and performing art.

By learning to play the piano at an early age, Mr. Hynson has always been interested in pursuing a career in the arts. While involved in a production of "Amahl and the Night Visitors" at his church as a child, he was afforded the opportunity to study the Bible and recite various verses onstage. As a result, Mr. Hynson's passion for performing blossomed, and he subsequently participated in various essay contests, contributed to student government as a public speaker and wrote the welcoming address for his high school graduation.

Further inspired to become an educator, Mr. Hynson obtained a Bachelor of Science in social studies secondary education from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, where he subsequently completed additional coursework towards a Master of Theatre Arts while contributing to a multitude of theatrical endeavors on campus. Moreover, he is proud to have studied at the Circle in the Square Theatre School in New York. Edythe Scott Bagley, MFA, MA, BA was his mentor. Mrs. Bagley's sister, Mrs. Coretta Scott King, awarded Harvey a full scholarship to attend the first summer institute on non-violent social change at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Social Change in Atlanta, Georgia in 1976. Mr. Hynson is grateful to have met and collaborated with such professionals as Dustin Hoffman, Al Pacino, Jessica Lange and Mikhail Baryshnikov.

In addition to his career as a theatre professional, Mr. Hynson has found recent success as a mailroom assistant at Preit. In this position, he works hard to hand deliver documents in a timely matter to staff members and the law and accounting offices. Additionally, he assists the director of purchasing and interacts with the liaison to all departments in areas of retail leasing.

Mastering his technique as a writer, Mr. Hynson takes great pride in his poetry. His writings have garnered critical acclaim over the course of his career, and as a result, he is honored to have been selected for inclusion in the 21st Annual International Society of Poets Convention and Symposium. Throughout his career, he has maintained professional affiliations with American Theatre Association, the American Educational Theatre Association and the Theater Association of Pennsylvania. Looking toward the future, Mr. Hynson hopes to remain committed to perfecting his craft by auditioning for commercials and Broadway productions.
