MEMPHIS, TN, July 08, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Evelina V. Dillon has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
A native of Uzbekistan, Ms. Dillon aspired to relocate to the U.S. and make something of herself. Having studied piano and music in college, she decided to change her career and became a hairstylist. She graduated from the Ohio State School of Cosmetology in 1999. She worked at the Charles Penzone Grand Salon in Dublin, Ohio from 2000-2007 as a stylist-director and in Charleston, West Virginia from 2007-2014 at 180 Hair Studio as a stylist and owner.
Resituating her life in Tennessee, Ms. Dillon has since excelled as a cosmetologist and established an art studio to showcase her one-of-a-kind artwork. Ms. Dillon was recruited by Gould Salon and Spa in Memphis in 2014. A prominent salon that established its roots in 1932, it currently boasts more than 450 employees and includes a Gould Academy for future cosmetologists. Finding great satisfaction through her work, Ms. Dillon enjoys connecting with her clients, which includes men, women and children of all ages, and developing relationships with them on a personal level.
In 2015, Ms. Dillon founded Evelina Dillon LLC Art Studio and Gallery as an artist and owner. Her works of art have included a large portfolio of drawings, paintings, and sketches, clay mono-prints, portraitures, still lifes and abstract pieces. Renowned in her community for her unique poster art, her pieces have been featured in solo and group exhibitions throughout the Memphis area. Ms. Dillon recently completed "Collierville, 1870-2020," the 150th anniversary painting for the town of Collierville, Tennessee, which she considers to have been a huge honor and featured a century's worth of history on one piece of canvas.
Passionate about volunteering and donating, Ms. Dillon is presently active with Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, where she is engaged in fundraising events that involve running. To further her professional artistic endeavors, she is a member of the Oil Painters of America. Recognizing her talents, Ms. Dillon recently won the Memphis in May Fine Art Poster Contest for Memphis's Bicentennial in 2019.
