[Pangyo Startup] MANGOSLAB Makes Printing Simple by Subtracting Ink, Toner, and Connection Struggle by Nemonic

Nemonic is a compact printer where analog and digital meet, so that you can print out the ideas and information in your smart devices immediately on sticky notes without ink or toner.

LOS ANGELES, CA, July 17, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- These days, spending on delivery food has increased due to COVID pandemic. If you have ordered food for delivery in the past, you might have seen one or two warm messages on small post-it paper sent by the restaurant owner. And, you might have wondered how he wrote all this by hand to tens, or even hundreds of orders.

But, if there is a mini printer that easily prints out notes written in daily life, it would be possible to send warm messages to the customers, even when there are not enough hands. This printer can also be used by students for taking notes and checking for right answers, and by office workers for writing minutes and phone call messages. Nemonic even prints out short memos with small design, without ink and toner.

Today, at the Pangyo Technovalley Startup Campus, we met MANGOSLAB CEO Jeong Yong-soo Jeong who developed the printer Nemonic that combines digital data and analog sticky notes, and listened to his ideas.

Q1. Company introduction
Jeong: It is a startup spun off from Samsung Electronics C-LAB in 2016. With the world's first memo printer "Nemonic" which prints notes that can be pasted without ink or toner, we won the Best Innovation Award at CES 2017. It comes in three sizes. Our cumulative sales are about 20 billion won, and currently, we are developing new items by combining various technologies and ideas.

Q2. Features of Nemonic
Jeong: When you take notes by using a PC or smartphone, it was very cumbersome to print them out.
Nemonic is a compact printer where analog and digital meet, so that you can print out the ideas and information in your smart devices immediately on sticky notes without ink or toner. The printed memo paper has good adhesives, so it can be attached anywhere you need it. By using Bluetooth, up to 15-20 people can connect to the printer and print out the memo in order. This makes Nemonic an optimal solution for meetings.

The device and the paper come in a total of five colors, lime green, peach pink, coconut white, berry blue, and lemon yellow, and there are two types of paper, adhesive and non-adhesive.
Also, the paper is made by eco-friendly method. The paper was colored with the ink that dissolves in the body in case it is swallowed. The adhesive part is not harmful for the body, and was approved by the US FDA.

Q3. Exports in the Overseas Market
Jeong: We raised the brand awareness in the overseas by winning the CES Best Innovation Award in 2017 and the Grand Prix Award at the 85th Tokyo International Gift Show in 2018. Last year, we entered the US market through Amazon, and I witnessed that there are no barriers that a great idea cannot break. In addition to the US, we are going to expand our export channel to 10 countries in Europe and Japan.

Q4. Reasons for Settling in Pangyo
We value great ideas, and the people who will make it happen more than anything else. Pangyo is a great location, and the surrounding infrastructure is also great, but the most attractive part is that it is a place where it is easy to obtain human resources. Especially, there are many innovative companies around, so we can easily find developers and companies that can work with us.
