Manuel F. Villalon, Esq., Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Mr. Villalon has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the field of law

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO, August 06, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Manuel F. Villalon, Esq., with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Villalon celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Villalon initially obtained a Bachelor of Science in economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1965 followed by a Master of Science in accounting from the aforementioned university in 1966. Three years later, he concluded his education by obtaining a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School. From 1973 to 1975, he flourished as the manager of the tax department of Price Waterhouse & Co. in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 1980, Mr. Villalon was recruited as a partner at the Arthur Andersen LLP office in San Juan, where he found further success for the following five years.

From 1985 to 1992, Mr. Villalon excelled as a practicing attorney while simultaneously serving as an associate professor at the University of Puerto Rico's Graduate School of Business Administration. He established his own private law practice in 1992 and continued to thrive as a specialist in tax law, estate planning and succession planning. After teaching economics for nearly 15 years, Mr. Villalon retired from his academic career in 2009.

Though he hails from a family of lawyers, Mr. Villalon originally intended to pursue a career in engineering. However, when his family emigrated to the U.S. from Cuba in 1960, he discovered that engineering opportunities for immigrants were scarce and he was encouraged to choose another field. Thanks to his natural talent for mathematics, he decided upon economics, which eventually inspired him to study law. Mr. Villalon attributes a great deal of his success to the mentorship of his former superior at Price Waterhouse & Co., who played a vital role in the development of his expertise in tax law.
