In 2020, ScholarCHIPS was selected to partner with Fair Chance, a local organization that works to build the capacity of nonprofits serving children in DC's Wards 7 and 8, the areas of the city most under-resourced and challenged by the impacts of structural racism. Each year, through its Praxis Partnership, Fair Chance identifies a select group of small nonprofits, predominately led by people of color, to work with them to strengthen organizational leadership and systems to foster sustainability and growth.

"Based on the recommendation of Fair Chance, ScholarCHIPS launched its first official board nomination and selection cycle in Spring 2021," said Board Chair Chris Magnuson, Director of Learner Experience, EVERFI. "The highly competitive process allowed us to identify and recruit the best mix of individuals to help advance our organization and position us for future growth."

"Our small but mighty team of ScholarCHIPS volunteers already has achieved so much success. Now, having been selected to work for with Fair Chance, I can't wait to see what the future holds," said Arrington.
