For five years, Mr. Johnson has served as the director of the New York City Amateur Filmmaking Squad, an organization that provides support, resources and education to amateur filmmakers, writers and actors. Bearing an extensive background in performance, he has acted in theatre productions and worked as a coordinating director and producer on a number of films. Mr. Johnson is currently working toward an Associate of Science in business administration, and has completed coursework in criminology and several other subjects. Looking toward the future, he hopes to continue diversifying his education in the coming years. Committed in his pursuit of travel and filmmaking apprenticeships, Mr. Johnson hopes to work with industry notables in California, Greece and Hong Kong within the next five years.
In addition to his work in the film industry, Mr. Johnson is the owner and sous chef of two successful pizzerias and has a background in Japanese fusion cuisine. He began cooking as a teen and worked his way up, learning business management skills in addition to refining his culinary skillset. Mr. Johnson attributes much of his success to the values and attitudes instilled in him by his hardworking parents, and considers running his own business to be the highlight of his career thus far.
