Dr. Lakisha Mearidy-Bell Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Community Service

Dr. Bell channels years of professional excellence into her work as the founder of the Trinity Foundation of Hope for Natural Disaster Victims



She is most proud to have saved families from permanent victimization after natural disasters and grants awarded to establish human services programs.

    BATON ROUGE, LA, August 13, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Lakisha Mearidy-Bell has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Driven to help those in her community, Dr. Mearidy-Bell excels as the Founder and Executive Director of the Trinity Foundation of Hope for Natural Disaster Victims, which supports immediate food, clothing, and shelter relief efforts, with a focus on the provision of water, sanitation and hygiene services. Furthermore, the foundation focus on addressing the long-term needs of communities impacted by disasters. In addition to her work with Trinity, Dr. Mearidy- Bell serves as a Certified Grant Writer and Consultant with Trinity Grant Services and as the Doctoral Chairperson for the Barbara Solomon School of Social Work at Walden University and Liberty University.

During an earlier stage in her career, Dr. Mearidy-Bell gained valuable expertise in the field as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors for Lazard Education Center, a social worker for the Department of Children and Family Services in Louisiana, and served as a Professor and Advisor at Baton Rouge Community College. Over the years, she has also expanded upon her skill set, earning a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College at Baton Rouge, a Master's degree in Social Work from Louisiana State University and a Doctor of Philosophy in Human Services with a concentration in Social and Community Services from Capella University.

In order to remain aware of changes in the academic and professional field, Dr. Bell aligns herself with the East Baton Rouge I-Care Program, American Grant Writer's Association and the National Association of Social Workers. Alongside her work in the field, she contributes to her community through the Special Providence Baptist Church. Due to her outstanding breadth of knowledge, she has contributed such articles as "How to Locate Public Funds for Higher Education," "Lights, Camera, Action! – Exploring Clip Files to Fund Higher Academia," "Utilizing Efficient Procedures in Higher Education Grants" and "What Documents Should Support Federal Grants in Higher Education?"

For her outstanding body of work, Dr. Mearidy-Bell has been honored with a Humanitarian Award through the Black Graduate Professional Association and a Social Worker of the Year Award through the Lazard Education Center. In a career that has been filled with highlights, she is most proud to have saved families from permanent victimization after natural disasters and grants awarded to establish human services programs.
