Dr. Tawil is a longtime academic advisor at LaSalle University in Athens, Greece, where he has contributed professionally since 1996. Widely recognized as an expert in mental healthcare and psychiatric research, he is a member of the Greek Society for Neurology and Psychiatry, the Greek Society for Mental Health of Children, the Hellenic Psychiatric Association and many others, including the American Psychiatric Association and the American Psychosomatic Society. Dr. Tawil studied at the University of Athens, who bestowed him with a Doctor of Medicine in 1981 and a Doctor of Philosophy in psychosomatics in 1986.
Dr. Tawil's career began as a researcher and a staff member at the University of Athens Dromokaitio Hospital, where he would serve from 1982 until 1986. After briefly serving as a member of the Athenian Psychiatric Administrative Council, he was appointed as an assistant professor at a psychiatric clinic in Athens, where he would remain between 1983 and 1993. During the early 1990s, Dr. Tawil was selected for postgraduate study at the University of Wisconsin and Baylor University, and was named as a Fulbright doctoral scholar in Athens.
Since 1996, Dr. Tawil has served as an academic advisor at LaSalle University in Athens, in addition to his research and writing contributions to professional journals and other industry publications. Outside of his professional commitments to research and continuing publication, he maintains his avid adherence to his Christian Orthodox faith. Furthermore, Dr. Tawil continues to write, read the works of diverse thought leaders and makes missions to countries at war.
