Ms. Lee initially obtained a Bachelor of Arts in biology from Swarthmore College in 1980. Thereafter, she earned a Master of Science from the University of Oregon in 1982. She completed her education in 1986, at which time she graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Willamette University College of Law. She was subsequently licensed to practice law by the United States Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth and Tenth Circuits. During this time, Ms. Lee began her career as an appellate lawyer for Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt.
For nearly 30 years, Ms. Lee found success as an attorney for her private practice, Cecilia Lee Ltd., before providing of counsel services to Davis, Graham & Stubbs LLP from 2015 until 2016. She was concurrently certified as a business bankruptcy specialists by the American Board of Certification in 2002. She continued her career as an adjunct professor of bankruptcy law and consumer and business bankruptcy law and reorganizations at Willamette University. Dedicated to the aforementioned institution, she has participated on the board of visitors and the leadership council to the dean of the law school since 2012. Furthermore, Ms. Lee has served as the president of the University of Nevada at Reno PACKPaws and has contributed to the committee on consumer bankruptcy law at the American Bankruptcy Institute and the lawyer referral and service committee of the State Bar of Nevada.
Over the course of her career, Ms. Lee has contributed to a multitude of publications and lectures relating to business and bankruptcy law. She is the author of "A is for Antelope: The Alphabet of Nevada's High Desert Basin and Range" (2017). She has also maintained her affiliations with the State Bars of Nevada and Oregon and the International Women's Forum.
