Dr. Kwon is an electronics engineer and educator celebrating more than 15 years of work specializing in the development and industrial applications of MEMS sensors. After completing his service to the Republic of Korea Army, he began lecturing at Kyungpook National University in 1993, and accepted an assistant professor position at Andong Science College during the following year. Dr. Kwon completed a Doctor of Philosophy at Kyungpook National University in 2000, and has pursued additional postdoctoral coursework in the department of physics at the Universite de Limoges.
Since 2002, Dr. Kwon has been a professor at Pukyong National University, and he served as the school's leader of faculty from 2005 until 2008. Extensively published, he has contributed to numerous scientific papers and professional journal articles. Furthermore, Dr. Kwon is the author of "Sensors and Interface for a Ubiquitous Computing," which was published in 2002.
As a leading voice in the study of electronic sensors, Dr. Kwon is a lifetime member of the Korean Sensors Society and sits on the board of directors of the Korean Institute of Signal Processing and Systems, the Korea Physical Society and the Polymer Society of Korea. Likewise, he is the deputy director of the Asian branch of the International Biographical Centre, who have presented him with more than half a dozen awards for his service, including an International Distinction of Cultural Merit and a Sir Isaac Newton Legacy of Honor Award. In his leisure time, Dr. Kwon enjoys music appreciation and takes an active role in community service and development initiatives.
