With over 45 years of expertise in the art of silversmithing, Ms. Wengenroth has garnered an exceptional reputation as the owner of Hudson Valley Silverworks LLC since 2016. Based in Kingston, New York, the handicraft school was established to serve as a nurturing environment for focusing and drawing out the talent of dedicated artisans of jewelry and silversmithing. Among its services, HV Silverworks offers weekly classes, workshops, individual instruction and group retreats to burgeoning students of the craft.

In addition to her work with HV Silverworks, Ms. Wengenroth has excelled as the owner of her art studio, from which she has managed a wholesale jewelry business S/W Metalsmiths from 1983 to 1993. She currently accepts commissions for repair, restoration and the crafting of unique articles of jewelry. Moreover, Ms. Wengenroth has notably completed orders for such luminary figures as Oprah Winfrey, LJ DuPont and the Bob Hope "Humana Award," to name only a few.

Ms. Wengenroth has found success as a teacher as well. Aside from her present duties at HV Silverworks, she has taught students at Southern Connecticut State University, Dutchess Community College, the Silvermine School of Art, the Woodstock Guild, the Brookfield Craft Center and the Peters Valley School of Craft, among others. A consummate professional, Ms. Wengenroth is a member of several pertinent organizations, including the Society of North American Goldsmiths, the American Craft Council, the Society of American Silversmiths and the Midtown Arts District.

Well respected for her contributions to the field of artisanship, Ms. Wengenroth has been presented with numerous honors. Among them, she won a Bronze Award from the 46th Annual Peters Valley Craft Fair in Augusta, New Jersey, in 2016, from which she also accepted a Gold Award and recognition as the Best in the Show during the 45th Annual Show in 2015. Likewise, she was honored with an Award of Excellence from the Regional Hospice Art Auction in Danbury, Connecticut, in 2005, and qualified as a finalist for the Saul Bell Design Award in 2003. Additional accolades to Ms. Wengenroth's credit includes grants from the New York Foundation for the Arts and the New York State Crafts Alliance in 2001 and 1995 as well as honorable mentions during the SPIVA National Contemporary Crafts Competition 1997 and from the Sterling Design Competition in 1982.

Ms. Wengenroth was initially exposed to arts and crafts at the age of 15, at which point she enrolled at the Peters Valley School of Craft. She enrolled in Queens College, a part of the City University of New York system, between 1978 and 1980. Ms. Wengenroth subsequently concluded her studies at the State University of New York at New Paltz, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in gold and silversmithing in 1983.

In light of her subsequent accomplishments as an artist, Ms. Wengenroth's work has been included in several books, including "Art That Works: The Decorative Art of the Eighties, Crafted in America" in 1990, and "The Penland Book of Jewelry: Master Classes in Jewelry Techniques" in 2005. Furthermore, she has been featured in several articles and retrospectives, including "The Kingston Midtown Arts District" and "The Spark that Still Ignites" (a solo exhibition). Notably, Ms. Wengenroth fondly recalls being profiled in an article that was published in Traditional Home in October of 2014.
