In addition to films, the event features a screenplay competition sponsored by the International Screenwriter's Association, workshops in filmmaking, screenwriting, and acting, parties, and more.
"I've been a fan of horror films from as long back as I can remember," says Bowers. "Working in the film industry as long as I have has given me lots of great connections and access to the industry resources needed to put on a really great event. It's a great way for me to share my love of horror with other fans, and to really showcase the great work of talented filmmakers from all around the world."
Cleveland Horror Fest is run by Bowers under his newly formed nonprofit, the Cleveland Film Collective. The organization serves the film community in the greater Cleveland area by offering affordable marketing, support, consulting, and resources.
