Dr. Johnson benefits from the accumulated experience of more than four decades of excellence in the field of spiritual psychology. As a spiritual psychologist, he trains law enforcement agencies throughout Wayne County, Michigan, in successfully coping with trauma, stress, depression, mental health and signs and symptoms of mental illness. Adjacent to his main responsibilities in the field, Dr. Johnson has worked in various agencies ranging from social services to community health, as well as the Department of Corrections as an institutional psychologist.
Before venturing onto his vocational path, Dr. Johnson sought an education at Wayne County Community College, where he earned an Associate of Science in 1975. In 1978, he attended the University of Detroit, where he completed his undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Arts in communication and psychology. After attending the Michigan School of Psychology Center of Humanistic Studies, he acquired a Master of Arts in clinical psychology. In 2009, Dr. Johnson would complete his formal learning with a Doctor of Philosophy in spiritual psychology from Union Institute and University.
A consummate professional, Dr. Johnson has been a member of several important organizations relevant to his field, including the Community and Police Partnership Advocacy, the American Psychological Association and the Association of Black Psychologists. Throughout the course of his career, he wrote, performed and produced an inspirational CD called "God in the Midst." Looking toward the future, Dr. Johnson hopes to continue reaping the fruits of his success and live his best life.
