Ethel Maureen Frese Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Education

Dr. Frese lends decades of medical expertise into her work with Saint Louis University



She has contributed to a plethora of publications, including the Journal of the American Physical Therapy Association.

    ST. LOUIS, MO, September 22, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ethel Maureen Frese has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Drawing inspiration from the example of her parents, both of whom earned distinction in health care, Dr. Frese pursued a career in the field. Backed by her considerable expertise, she earned the distinguished title of a professor emeritus at Saint Louis University's Doisy College of Health Sciences in 2021, where she had served for more than four decades. Previously, Dr. Frese found success as an adjunct instructor in the physical therapy departments of Washington University's School of Medicine, the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and Meramec Junior College.

Over the years, Dr. Frese also gained valuable expertise in the field through varying professor positions and clinical roles with the Saint Louis University School of Allied Health Professions, Saint Louis University Hospital, Missouri Baptist Hospital, and St. Joseph Hospital. Due to her outstanding breadth of expertise, she has contributed to a plethora of publications, including the Journal of the American Physical Therapy Association. Additionally, Dr. Frese served in an editorial capacity with the Cardiopulmonary Physical Therapy Journal, the Journal of Gerontology, and a myriad of manuscripts.

An expert in her field, Dr. Frese holds a Bachelor of Science in physical therapy and a master's degree in health science from Washington University, a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Saint Louis University and several certifications through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists. Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, she aligns herself with the American Physical Therapy Association's geriatric, acute care and cardiopulmonary sections, the Missouri Physical Therapy Association and the Alpha Eta Society.

For her outstanding body of work, Dr. Frese has been honored on many occasions, earning a fellowship and the Lucy Blair Service Award through the American Physical Therapy Association, the Helen Holzum Whealan Service Award through the Eastern District of the Missouri Physical Therapy Association, the Linda Crane Memorial Lectureship Award and several award nominations through Saint Louis University. Although her career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Frese is most proud to have been selected as the mace bearer for the 2021 graduation ceremony at Saint Louis University.
