After completing a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Boston University in 1955, Mr. Miller joined the United States Air Force, where he served for more than a decade as a captain and aircraft maintenance officer. Due to his lengthy and distinguished military career, he was sought out by several Fortune 500 companies, including GTE Sylvania and General Electric. In 1982, supported by his military and business knowledge, Mr. Miller founded Multicom Inc., a manufacturer and stocking distributor of multi-communication systems and products for video, data and voice networking and communications.
As the President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Miller oversees the financial aspects of Multicom, as well as providing long-earned wisdom, experience, and guidance in the procurement, engineering, and marketing of thousands of fiber optic, video, information technology, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and satellite products located in Multicom's three warehouses.
Multicom now stocks more than 20,000 different products and ships them throughout the United States, Canada, and approximately 20 other countries internationally. Mr. Miller was instrumental in establishing the only Foreign Trade Zone in Seminole County, which has benefitted Multicom by successfully establishing itself in many Latin America countries.
Because of the respect that he has earned in the industry, Mr. Miller has served as a board member of the Orlando Chamber of Commerce and World Trade Center Orlando, and was chosen as one of Orlando Business Journal's 2020 Veterans of Influence. In 2019, Multicom was also distinguished as Central Florida's third-largest veteran-owned business with inclusion in the Orlando Business Journal's Golden 100 List of Top Local Privately Held Companies. Miller is also very proud that Multicom was honored with the President's "E" Award, recognizing persons and organizations that contribute significantly in the effort to increase U.S. exports.
