Can A Minor Be Charged Criminally Due To A School TikTok Challenge

A new challenge named 'Slap A Teacher' has become a real cause for concern for social media users.

KNOXVILLE, TN, September 29, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- According to a screenshot of TikTok trends for every month of the year, October is supposed to be "Slap A Teacher" month. The trend basically asks a student to walk up to their teacher or school staff member and slap them and run. The student must capture the whole thing on camera or video for the challenge to count.

Earlier this month, a different TikTok challenge appeared that saw students stealing items from bathrooms – kids across America began taking things like soap dispensers, toilet roll holders, tiles and even sinks from their school. Schools urged students that there would be consequences if this continued. Now that the school bathroom challenge has died down, a new challenge has taken its place for October, and this one seems even worse.

Minors & Criminal Charges
While the kids that participate in the challenge may think what they are doing is just a prank, slapping someone in the face is no laughing matter. A juvenile criminal record can end up becoming part of a minor's permanent record, which can make it difficult in obtaining future education, employment, or even housing in the future.
