Jeffrey S. Cutter Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Cutter with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Cutter celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. For more than four decades, Mr. Cutter worked as a musician and secondary school educator before retiring from Warren Consolidated Schools in 2012. Previously, from 2006 until 2012, he worked as the director of bands at Paul K. Cousino High School in Warren, Michigan. Mr. Cutter also served for many years as the director of choirs, a leadership co-instructor and a curriculum consultant. Additionally, he worked between 1980 and 2006 as a performing arts facilitator for the Warren Consolidated Community Education.

Outside of his obligations with the school district, Mr. Cutter, who is best known for his expertise in instrumental music, led the Detroit Lions Inc. as its entertainment director for nearly three decades between 1975 and 2003. Likewise, he maintained involvement as a program assistant with Detroit Lions Entertainment from 1975 to 1997. Among other noteworthy roles, Mr. Cutter served with the Michigan State Fair's department of entertainment and special events as a program coordinator.

Deeply invested in his local community, Mr. Cutter has been active with various civic and educational organizations with close ties to his profession, including as a member of the Warren Symphony Society and the Warren Concert Band Inc. He is also a member of the City of Warren Council Commissioners, where he once served as the chairman and the American School Band Director's Association Education Foundation as a treasurer.

Additionally, Mr. Cutter is the president of Friends of Music at Wayne State University and the chairman of the Warren-Center-Line Thanksgiving Parade Center Inc. In previous years, he had the opportunity to serve as the executive director for the Weekend School of Music, which is sponsored by the Southeast Michigan Arts Forum, and offers instrumental and music theory classes to elementary, middle and high school students on Saturdays.

To prepare for his career in education, Mr. Cutter earned a Bachelor of Arts in instrumental music education, with distinction, a Master of Arts in education, and a Master of Arts in educational leadership and administration at Wayne State University. He subsequently completed his student teaching at Wolcott Junior High School in Warren, Michigan, and Clawson Junior and Senior High Schools and Schalm Elementary School in Clawson, Michigan. Following these accomplishments, Mr. Cutter became a certified teacher in the state of Michigan in 1986.

As a member of several industry-related organizations, Mr. Cutter has been greatly invested with the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association for more than 25 years where he served in various roles, including past president, and was a guest conductor multiple times for District XVI. He also served in several capacities with the American School Band Directors Association, including as the national president, and with the National Band Association, the World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles, the American School Band Director's Association and the Michigan Education Association.

Recognizing his dedication to the field of education, Mr. Cutter was named as the Teacher of the Year. He also received other accolades, including being named as an Outstanding Volunteer by the City of Warren. Furthermore, Mr. Cutter was bestowed with a Government Service Award from the Warren Historical and Genealogical Society.
