LONDON, ENGLAND, November 12, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Professor Joanne P. Webster with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Prof. Webster celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Having garnered a laudable reputation as a scientist and public health expert, Prof. Webster has accrued nearly three decades of experience in her chosen profession. To make an impact on the medical field after graduating from the University of Oxford, Prof. Webster initially became a clinical scientist for the Communicable Disease Surveillance Centre in 1993, specializing in congenital syphilis in the UK. She subsequently returned to the University of Oxford as a Research Fellow and Lecturer to undertake global health work across Africa and Asia. Considering it an honor and a privilege to work with SCI, the contributions she has made have greatly facilitated treatment across Africa, and were awarded a Queen's Anniversary Prize and Medal in 2008, presented by Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip at Buckingham Palace, for International Public Health Impact.

In 2014, Prof. Webster joined the Royal Veterinary College, University of London, as their Chair in Parasitic Diseases (whilst retaining her Chair in Infectious Diseases at Imperial), to further expand her One Health research and disease control activities encompassing both human and animal health. Presently, she also serves as the Associate Director of the London Centre for Neglected Tropical Disease Research and as Director of the Centre for Emerging, Endemic and Exotic Diseases since 2016. Renowned for her work, Prof. Webster has extensively studied transmission dynamics and disease prevention of neglected tropical and zoonotic diseases, as well as parasite-altered host behavior.

Prof. Webster has had the pleasure to serve as an expert advisor on a number of World Health Organization's Guideline Development and expert advisory groups. She is also a member of the SCI management board and the Global Schistosomiasis Alliance working group, and a member of several boards and committees relevant to public and One Health. As a seasoned researcher, Prof. Webster has contributed numerous scientific articles to scholarly journals, as well as serving on editorial boards.

Elected as a fellow of the Royal Society of Biology and the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, Prof. Webster has also been the recipient of numerous accolades throughout her illustrious career. Among them, she was honored with the Chalmers Memorial Medal in 2013 from the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, which recognized her outstanding contributions to tropical medicine, and the C.A.
