After her grandmother suffered a stroke, Ms. Treynor resolved to help others survive similar afflictions, and earned a bachelor's degree in allied health sciences, with an emphasis on speech language pathology and a minor in psychology, from Grand Valley State University. Subsequently, she received a master's degree from Cleveland State University.
Ms. Treynor currently works with children with autism and special needs at HealthCall Health Services. She is also a speech language pathologist at Genesis Rehab Services, where she assesses individuals regarding their swallow function, dysphagia, cognitive needs, memory issues, safety awareness, impulse control, thought organization and communication. She also recently worked on COVID ventilator units in order to help people eat again. Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, she aligns herself with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Although her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Treynor is most proud to have worked with a resident who had come into the emergency room. Following his intubation and subsequent inability to eat, she assisted him in regaining control of his faculties. Likewise, she enjoys working with a child living with Autism, whose aggressive behavior lessened considerably under her care. She is driven and focused and hopes to be remembered as a person who really cares. In the coming years, Ms. Treynor aims to continue working with children.
