A nationally-certified licensed clinical professional counselor, Ms. Holley earned a Bachelor of Arts in marketing from Howard University in 1999. After graduating, she worked for Sony Music for several years. She subsequently started to build the foundation of her counseling career with Federation Employment & Guidance Services (FEGS), with which she worked as a job developer, providing job training and life skills to individuals impacted by the justice system. Over the years, Ms. Holley furthered her expertise in the field, obtaining a master's degree in community counseling from DePaul University while working as a community counselor intern for Bronzeville Scholastic Institute High School on the south side of Chicago, as well as a project coordinator and clinician for the Institute for Positive Living.
Throughout the following years, Ms. Holley gained valuable experience as a behavioral clinician with the WES Health System, clinician and account services coordinator for Bensinger, DuPont & Associates employee assistance program, and an adjunct professor for DePaul University. She was additionally active as the president elect for the Illinois Mental Health Counseling Association (IMHCA) and both an office manager and psychotherapist with Urban Balance, a growing group private practice in the Chicagoland area. More recently, Ms. Holley has served as staff clinician with The George Washington University and a clinical supervisor for Foundations, which is also known as First Home Care in the Washington, DC area.
Backed by her extensive expertise in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), internal family systems work (IFS) and her training on the effects of trauma on the brain, Ms. Holley currently excels as a psychotherapist in private practice with Healing Circle, LLC. In this position, she provides counseling for adults suffering from trauma, anxiety, depression, postpartum depression, co-dependency issues, life transitions and addiction. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Ms. Holley is affiliated with the Maryland Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development (MAMCD), where she is past president and board member, as well as the board member and secretary-elect for the Maryland Counseling Association (MCA).
Dedicated to those less fortunate, Ms. Holley has contributed as a volunteer with Jobs for Youth, Naperville North High School, and her local Silver Spring community. She particularly enjoys working with young African American youth, providing support and life skills. In light of her outstanding body of work, she has been presented with an Award from the Bronzeville Scholastic Institute for her commitment and dedication to her students and the President's Award from the Maryland Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development (MAMCD). Being on the MAMCD and MCA board has helped her to remain on top of trends in psychotherapy as well as network with other psychotherapists. Looking ahead, Ms. Holley aims to foster a team and help others expand their practice, specifically helping therapists of color with their practice.
