Ms. Pietan had been active for nearly 15 years as a travel agent for The Auto Club Group before establishing Amber Pietan Travel Agency in 2013. Learning the art of sales from her father, she credits both of her parents for teaching her the value of hard work. She is also fortunate to have found great mentorship from several former managers. As a professional business woman, Ms. Pietan is a member of Business Network International and Greater Mankato Growth, which is a local business organization dedicated to supporting and promoting economic growth throughout the region.
Ms. Pietan initially earned an Associate of Science in tourism and travel services management from Dakota County Technical College in 1998. She also completed coursework at South Central College, Riverland Community College and Minnesota State University. She recently completed the Disney College of Knowledge program at Walt Disney World and the Hospitality Tourism Management program at Florida Atlantic University in 2020. Ms. Pietan holds multiple certifications in her field as well, including as an Outrigger expert agent, Sandals Specialist, Dominican Republic travel specialist, Aruba expert and Certified Travel Associate.
Ms. Pietan has been recognized on the Hot Starz! list in The Connect Business Magazine as well as with a 2019 feature article in Business Connect Magazine titled "A Day in the Life of a Travel Agent." She has also received a First Place Travel Agency Award from Mankato Magazine/The Free Press for 2020 to 2021, an award she previously garnered in 2014. She also accepted the Outside Agents Award for Outstanding Sales Achievement annually from 2013 to 2020, a Third Place Travel Agency Award from Mankato Magazine/The Free Press in 2019 and a Small Business Development Center Award from Woman-Owned Business in 2019, among many others. Honored by the Hometown Business Connection with KEYC-TV in 2019, Ms. Pietan is incredibly proud of being presented with the Travel Agent of the Year Award in 2008, as she had been number one in sales for the entire states of Minnesota/Iowa that year.
