WITTMANN, AZ, December 23, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Grace Anne Siekman has been included in Marquis Who's Who. When her husband was deployed to active duty with the Army, Ms. Siekman knew that she had to find a job that would sustain her. Upon becoming a licensed practical nurse through Southeast Community College in 1974, she began her career with Teamsters Hospital, where she remained for a number of years. Soon thereafter, she gained valuable expertise in the field as a staff nurse with Westside Manor, a neonatal nurse with Good Samaritan Hospital and as a staff nurse and Lamaze teacher with Jennie Melham Memorial Medical Center. During the mid-1980s, she furthered her expertise, earning an Associate of Science in Nursing from the State University of New York. Over the course of the following ten years, Ms. Siekman worked as a charge nurse with Melissa Memorial Hospital, Chase County Hospital, and Kit Carson County Hospital.
In 1994, Ms. Siekman once again returned to academia, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. Backed by her newfound knowledge, she served as an emergency room and obstetrics supervisor for Kit Carson County Hospital and Lamaze instructor. In 1998 she obtained her Physician Assistant Certification and went on to obtain her Master of Science in Physician Assistant studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center More recently, Ms. Siekman graduated with a Master of Science in Physician Assistant studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and worked as a family practice Physician Assistant for Stratton Medical Clinic, Parke Health Clinic, and Kit Carson County Women's Health before accepting her current role as an Emergency Room Physician Assistant with Vituity.
Throughout her career, Ms. Siekman has garnered several certifications, including an advanced trauma life support certification, an advanced cardiovascular life support certification, a basic life support instructor certification and a certification in neonatal resuscitation instruction, to name a few. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, she is affiliated with the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Society of Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants, the Arizona State Association of Physician Assistants, the Association of Women's Health, the Emergency Room Nurses Association and the Emergency Medical Association of Colorado. Alongside her primary work, Ms. Siekman has contributed to her community as a volunteer with Stratton Ambulance Service and as a pianist with the Stratton Methodist Church.
For her professional excellence, Ms. Siekman received the Northeastern Plains Nurse Award, the Emergency Medical Technician Intermediate of the Year Award from the Emergency Medical Association of Colorado and a Physician Assistant of the Year Award from the Family Practice Physician Assistant Group and Vituity. She was additionally honored as an Outstanding Nurse of the Year by the Kit Carson County Hospital. Although her career has been filled with highlights, she is incredibly proud of establishing a clinic in Stratton, Colorado. Within the coming years, Ms. Siekman intends to be mentoring students and new graduates.
