Rick Moos Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Banking

Mr. Moos climbed the ranks through various roles

TOPANGA, CA, January 12, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rick Moos has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

While growing up in Detroit, MI, Mr. Moos joined the newly opened Sarver Boy's Club in 1952 when he was only eleven years old. The Boy's Club taught him to play basketball, ping pong and various other activities. He was selected the Boy of the Year in 1955 with over 700 members. He attended Cass Tech H.S. in Detroit and Madison H.S. in Madison Heights, MI. He was selected as an all-county and all-state basketball player in 1958-59.

He then went to Albion College for one year on a basketball scholarship. Shortly thereafter he moved to Santa Monica, California, arriving in 1962 with only $20.00 in his pocket. After eating only one tuna fish sandwich a day for three weeks, he was employed by Bank of America in an entry level position. Mr. Moos advanced little by little to a Vice President position, while working in many different divisions of the bank. In 1982 he moved over to First Interstate Bank, where he was employed as the President of the Securities Lending Division. From a zero balance, he and his crew built up the lending totals to over $5 Billion in outstanding balances. In 1992 he joined Security Pacific Bank in the same position. With each move to another bank, he took the number one investment account in the United States with him; the California Public Employee' Retirement System (PERS).

In 1995 he became a founding member of Metropolitan West Securities with outstanding balances of over $50 billion in total, before his early retirement in 2005.

Over the years Mr. Moos was very involved with community activities. He joined the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce (LAJCC) in 1968 and became its President in 1975, with over a thousand members.

While putting on over 100 projects in 1975 alone, here are some the most noteworthy:

● Led the team that ran The 50th Anniversary of the Los Angeles Open Golf Tournament held at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, CA.

● Put on The Los Angeles WATTS Summer Games with over 6,000 high school athletes, both boy's and girl's competing in all sports.

● Led an outreach program to the Parka De Rosa Orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico where orphans were placed along with the LAJCC's families and taken to places such as SeaWorld, Disneyland, and Knott's Berry Farm.

● Led the USA delegation for the USA/JAPAN Collegiate Baseball Championship held at Dodger Stadium, Angels Stadium and USC's Dedeaux Field.

● Created the first exchange program between the Los Angeles and Tokyo Junior Chamber of Commerce memberships.

Mr. Moos was also a member of the Los Angeles Area Chamber's Board, meeting with many of their Los Angeles City leaders every week.

In the late 60's, Mr. Moos ran Pat Boone's Celebrity Basketball Team, which raised money for various high schools in the greater Los Angeles area. In just over three years, his team raised over $150,000 to assist in preventing sport cut-backs in high school sport programs.

In 1996, he along with six other investment families, purchased the historical landmark "The Lobster" restaurant in Santa Monica, CA. After remodeling and expanding the facilities, and hiring a world class chef, The Lobster has now become one of the most popular restaurants in the greater Los Angeles area.

He has been married to his high school sweetheart Callie for 59 years. They have two sons, Randal, married to Karen with two sons Riley and Justin, and Ryan, married to Mariana.

In a career that has been filled with many highlights, he is most proud of his many contributions to the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce and serving the greater Los Angeles community.

Mr. Moos is asked quite often to what he attributes his success. He simply says the LORD first and then GIVING second. The more he gives the more he has received, without expecting anything in return.
