ROCHESTER, MN, January 18, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Brandi Smith, PharmD, BCPPS, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Dr. Smith earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Iowa in 2003 and went on to complete a pharmacy residency in pediatrics at the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences. Since completion of her training in 2004, she has worked as a clinical pediatric pharmacist for the Mayo Clinic. In this capacity, she provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care to her patients. She has become an integral part of the multidisciplinary care team by providing drug therapy monitoring and optimization, pharmacokinetic services, and mediation reconciliation and discharge counseling. In addition, she provides many educational opportunities for fellow pharmacists, physicians, and nurses focusing on medication therapy and pharmacokinetics in pediatric patients, with particular emphasis on neonatal patients.
Dr. Smith achieved board certification as a pediatric pharmacy specialist in 2017. Additionally, she achieved Quality Fellow certification as a Bronze, Silver, and ultimately Gold fellow for her work on quality improvement practices in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She continues to be an active member of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists and Pediatric Pharmacy Association.
Dr. Smith has focused her pharmacy practice on neonatal medicine and seeks to be an expert in the field. As this patient population continues to grow smaller and presents new challenges in providing care, Dr. Smith feels this is an area of unlimited learning with opportunities to forge new pathways in medicine. She looks forward to caring for this unique patient population and growing professionally and personally in the process.
