"Dhyan and Dialog are providing an end-to-end lighting management solution that is unparalleled in the market in terms of flexibility and capability."
FREMONT, CA, January 27, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dhyan, the device management experts, today announced it is working with Dialog, a Renesas Company, to provide an end-to-end solution for smart outdoor lighting and municipal IoT solutions. Dhyan has joined Dialog's SmartServer™ IoT ecosystem as a Premier CMS Developer and is making its StreetMan and LightMan central management software (CMS) available as powerful smart lighting enablers for Dialog's extensible, multi-protocol IoT SmartServer IoT edge server. The joint solution is available today.
SmartServer IoT enables control and automation for IoT networks such as smart lighting for streets, public areas and building lighting. It includes device drivers for open IoT protocols including LonWorks, BACnet and Modbus for connectivity to building management systems, facility, area and street lighting. SmartServer IoT powers hundreds of IoT applications ranging from street lighting to building automation and industrial IoT. Dhyan's CMS communicates with SmartServer IoT using the open TALQ Smart City Protocol which ensures multi-protocol and multi-vendor interoperability and enables fine-grained control and visibility into the health and status of all smart lights in a system.
"Working with Dhyan, we are providing an end-to-end lighting management solution that is unparalleled in the market in terms of flexibility and capability," said Apurba Pradhan, Business Unit Director, Industrial Edge Computing, at Dialog, a Renesas Company. "The open, extensible approach makes it easy to expand a lighting system with devices from multiple vendors and protocols all under one CMS."
"Dhyan is delighted to join forces with Dialog to deliver a smarter, more flexible lighting management solution with the combination of our leading products," said Prakash Ramadass, VP Smart Cities for Dhyan. "The SmartServer IoT edge server is a powerful hardware platform, and the combination with Dhyan's CMS creates a state-of-the-art, easy-to-use and future-proof smart lighting solution."
The SmartServer family of edge servers was originally developed by Echelon, creators of LONworks technology, and has evolved into a multi-protocol, open integration platform for industrial IoT. SmartServer is installed in countless networked outdoor lighting systems, especially in powerline communication based networks. Dhyan's Streetman and Lightman, through the TALQ interface, work with all versions of the SmartServer including the latest SmartServer IoT. With this announced integration, municipalities can upgrade legacy lighting networks as well as connect previously unconnected systems under one CMS.
The Dhyan family of central management software for the IoT market includes StreetMan for managing smart streetlights, LightMan for managing smart area lights such as in campuses, buildings, and warehouses, and CitiMan for managing smart city IoT assets.
