Ms. Kavleski has led a decorated career spanning over five decades as an artist and educator. She obtained an Associate of Arts and an Associate of Applied Science from Orange County Community College in 1963 and 1964, respectively, and continued coursework at the Herron School of Art and Design at Indiana University. Thereafter, Ms. Kavleski earned a Bachelor of Science at the State University of New York at New Paltz in 1967, at which she has also completed graduate coursework in fine arts.
From 1968 to 1999, Ms. Kavleski found success as an art teacher at the Monticello Central School District in New York. Notably, Ms. Kavleski's art classes were credited as the inspiration for the Art Teacher of the Year, Brenda Swalski, by the New York State Art Teacher's Association Regent 7. Aside from her work as a teacher, she also served as an art advisor and art editor of the literary and art magazine at Robert J. Kaiser Middle School for over a decade. From 1983 to 2009. Ms. Kavleski acted as an antiques and art dealer for Brockmann's Antique Center in Milford, New York.
Respected for her expertise, Ms. Kavleski has been a member of the Amos Eno Gallery as a participating artist member since 1984, treasurer from 1990 to 1994, and a board member since 2016. Since 2009, she has also been a dealer at Albatross Antiques and Art. Her work has been showcased at numerous exhibits throughout the span of her lengthy career, including solo exhibits and group shows across the United States. Moreover, Ms. Kavleski's art has been featured in several reputable publications including "The New York Art Review."
As a testament to her talent, Ms. Kavleski has been the recipient of the Eve Helman Memorial Award for Works on Paper by the National Association of Women Artists. Likewise, she earned the Elizabeth Horman Memorial Award for Digital Art at the 125th National Association of Women Artists Exhibition. Ms. Kavleski continues to be a member of the National Association of Women Artists Inc., the New York State Art Teachers Association, the New York Retired Teachers Association, the Catskill Art Society, the National Museum of Women in the Arts and the Whitney Museum of American Art, as well as The Museum of Modern Art, and the Guggenheim Museum of Art.
