Don Elijah Eckhart wrote "Jesus the Everlasting Hope of Humankind" in 2018. Dr. Eckhart received his doctorate from Ashland Theological Seminary.

GALLOWAY, OH, February 04, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Don Elijah Eckhart has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Having retired from his work in government service, Dr. Eckhart returned to higher education to follow his passion in theology. In 2018, he authored the book "Jesus the Everlasting Hope of Humankind" through Wipf & Stock Publishers. Looking toward the future, Dr. Eckhart hopes that his book and his dissertation, which was completed in 2020, will become resources for theologians and churches. The topic of his dissertation was eternal punishment, which Dr. Eckhart believes needs up-to-date theology using Greek, the original New Testament language, to understand God's potential purposes.

Dr. Eckhart worked in government from 1974 until 2004. He served as division chief for the Ohio Legislative Service Commission, a nonpartisan agency that serves the Ohio General Assembly, between 1986 and 2004. He received a Legislative Staff Achievement Award from the National Conference of State Legislatures in 2002. While with the Ohio General Assembly, Don was invited to give the opening prayer for the Ohio Senate several times, and he did so on his own time. After his full-time positions, he was a part-time instructor from 2005 until 2008 for the Ohio Certified Public Manager Program, affiliated with The Ohio State University and Ohio University.

Engaged in various nonprofit and charitable organizations, Don and his wife Sue Ellen have sponsored children with World Vision since 1975. They are also monthly donors to Food for the Hungry, Samaritan's Purse, and Habitat for Humanity. In addition, Don's most rewarding experiences have been helping needy persons directly. He is also a trustee for the Darby Creek Association and a member of the Columbus Metropolitan Club. He has been a long-time member of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA), including serving as president of two chapters. Don's article "What Do Ethical Leaders Follow? The Way of Truth" was published by ASPA in the March 2003 issue of "PA Times."

Highly educated, Dr. Eckhart received a B.A. in economics and political science, magna cum laude, at Capital University in 1972, followed by a Master of Public Administration at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1974. For more higher education years later, he acquired a Master of Arts in Christian theology and a doctorate at Ashland Theological Seminary in 2013 and 2020, respectively.
