The Black Bon Jovi Remodels L.A. Boys & Girls Club in Advance of NFL Event

My mission is to spread positive energy to those in need.

LOS ANGELES, CA, February 07, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Plugstar Entertainment is pleased to announce that Miami-based recording and performing artist Dominic Smith—aka The Black Bon Jovi—has been hard at work transforming the Los Angeles Boys & Girls Club (LABGC) in advance of a very special event. As part of the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Awards (which recognize a player for his excellence both on and off the field), the National Football League will be bringing players and other guests to participate in a day of service and mentoring on Friday, February 11. To interact with them, 10 foster youth have been invited to attend.

The charismatic artist, who is also known as "The Cancer Killa," owns and operates a boutique production firm for special events and charitable causes, primarily through a partnership with the American Cancer Society. Out of his personal belief that a serious work ethic, determination, and good will are essential to achieving dreams, he felt called at this time to make a difference in the lives of the youth who will benefit from this event.

With funding from L.A.'s Cargo Snack Shack (on Spring Street), The Black Bon Jovi created and directed a complete remodeling of one of the rooms at the LABGC, located at 2635 Pasadena Ave. The goal of the project was to create a modern space for the club's kids to hang out, create, and feel more at home. The renovation team also included Steiner Bros. Construction Company, PNP Electric, Boganco Painting Pros, and interior designer Ashley Donohue. The result was a brightly-lit room with a polished floor, workspaces with computers, a television monitor, craft tables, new chairs, storage shelving, lots of windows, and turquoise and red accents. "We're going to continue this impactful effort by creating similar rooms at Boys & Girls Clubs nationwide," The Black Bon Jovi reveals. The name of this project will be called "Roc My Room".

The artist will also be spreading positivity and encouragement to cancer survivors and their families when he kicks off his third annual national Cancer Killa Celebrity Kickball Fundraiser Tour from Texas in March. Dates and locations will be announced and donations can be made at Also look for his upcoming television show, ROC MY ROOM.
