A strident believer in the power of meditation, Ms. Clotworthy has distinguished herself as the president and executive director of Worthy Beyond Purpose (WBP), a nonprofit organization that seeks to teach children about the benefits of mindfulness and meditation. Established in 2018 and achieving nonprofit status in the following year, WBP has collaborated with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) to help students improve their social and academic skills. By cultivating a wide-ranging curriculum that guides youngsters through the process of centering themselves and removing distractions, Ms. Clotworthy and her organization have successfully reduced occurrences of depression and anxiety, and spurred the development of positive relationship building throughout the communities with which they work.

Connie has certificates in Difficult Emotions and Mindful Communication by Mindful Schools as well as completion of Psych11, from Santa Monica College. Outside of her primary work with WBP, she holds weekly adult meditations via zoom and works with numerous recovery centers teaching the practice of meditation.
Prior to the establishment of WBP, Ms. Clotworthy worked for several years in the restaurant industry, during which time she learned to cope with the hectic pace through meditation. While volunteering at a summer camp in Jamaica, Connie's meditation practice was interrupted by a curious eight-year-old girl, asking if she could join in on the sit. Watching this girl center herself and find stillness provoked a realization in Ms. Clotworthy; that mindfulness was not only beneficial to adults, but to children as well, and that if it were taught at a young age it could transform lives. Later, following the outbreak of school shootings all over the United States, she found herself compelled to start the initiative that would become Worthy Beyond Purpose.
Notably, Ms. Clotworthy and her organization have been profiled and featured by various media organizations, including Business Wire, Authority Magazine, VoyageLA and ShoutOut DFW. Likewise, she was interviewed on episode 113 of the Powerful Ladies podcast. Among other highlights to her credit, she is particularly proud to have successfully accrued $54,000 in funding for WBP's curriculum in seven LAUSD schools.
