"We created Revolutionize DMDD to let parents know they are not alone and that there is hope," says Executive Director Nicole Lytle.
LAS VEGAS, NV, March 10, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Revolutionize DMDD, a new licensed 501(c)(3) non-profit gives hope to families impacted by the brain disorder, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD). The non-profit's website (RDMDD.org), created by parents and advocates, thoroughly explains the brain-based treatment that targets DMDD at its root. Presented in a comprehensible format, the website includes pertinent information for families, medical professionals, and educators. Up until now, nothing like this has existed anywhere for DMDD.
Currently, there are tens of thousands of families in private DMDD support groups. Post after post reveals the horror most of these families experience while searching for a solution for their raging child. Two years ago, several moms from across the country who only "met" in a private online support group decided to band together, feeling a moral obligation to share the game-changing treatment that stabilized their children and transformed their lives. Through their passion and concern, Revolutionize DMDD is now a reality. They are joined by an international coalition of families, medical professionals, and community members, who have seen firsthand the life-transforming results of the brain-based treatment.
"We created Revolutionize DMDD to let parents know they are not alone and that there is hope," says Executive Director Nicole Lytle. "We've laid out the website in a clear fashion keeping in mind exhausted parents who just want a solution to this debilitating disorder. Our purpose is to educate about the brain-based treatment because a better life for those suffering from DMDD is possible. When families, medical professionals, and educators work together for the good of the child, the results are truly life-transforming."
DMDD is a childhood disorder characterized by chronic irritability, anger, and frequent rages inappropriate to the situation and the child's age. This explosive disorder often results in parents and siblings getting PTSD and isolating themselves due to their child's behavior. There aren't decades of documented research or standard of care protocols taught at medical schools or utilized across the board by all medical professionals. Despite these obstacles, many families have found stability for their children with the brain-based treatment. Revolutionize DMDD envisions a world where the standard of care to treat all children with DMDD is directed at the root cause of their symptoms. To learn more visit: http://www.RDMDD.org.
