Dr. Valdes Roque earned a Doctor of Medicine, with concentrations in nutrition and respiratory medicine, from the University of Medical Sciences of Havana in her native Cuba in 1988. She attained board certification in pediatrics and began working as a pediatrician at Juan Manuel Marquez Pediatric Teaching Hospital, a tertiary care hospital in Havana, in 1988. She continued her career as a pediatrician at the National Institute of Nutrition in 1996 and the at the Hospital Luis de la Puente Uceda in 1998. Subsequently, she moved to Brazil to work as a pediatrician in the Community Hospital of Porto National from 2001 to 2003.
Dr. Roque then immigrated to the United States, where she began as a medical assistant at Leon Medical Center in Miami in 2005. She went on to complete a residency in pediatrics at the Flushing Hospital Medical Center in Queens, New York, from 2006 to 2009. She continued her career working as a pediatrician at Wee Tots Pediatrics, P.A., in 2009 and Tots & Tykes Pediatrics, P.A., in 2011. In 2012, she commenced her current position as a pediatrician, managing member and medical director for Loving Care Pediatrics in Bedford, Texas. In addition to her main career, Dr. Roque has also published articles in medical journals and industry-related magazines.
As part of her dedication to her field, Dr. Roque is a member of the American Board of Pediatrics and is certified in the EarWell® procedure by Beacon Medical. She is also a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has always loved children and decided to focus her expertise on pediatric medicine to support them and help them become as healthy as possible.
